• Look at the book with your child
• What can you find out about in this book?
• Say to your child that this is an information book. We use them to look up facts and things we may not know
• Look at the pictures. Talk together about drawings and photographs and the difference between the two
• Can you see the page numbers?
• Talk together about your favourite page

Beyond Materials

• Can you and your child find some objects around the house that are
  made from glass?
• Together carefully touch the glass – how does it feel? Can you see through it?
• Together, talk about why we must be careful with glass
• In your pack, can you say which spoon is made from which material?
• When you look at the metal spoon, can you see your face? Is it upside-down or the right way up?
• Use the texture viewfinder like a window and see which materials you can see as you look through it
