Snail – Snaily – Snails

  • Look at the book with your child.
  • What can you find out about in this book?
  • Say to your child that this is an information book. We use them to look up facts and things we may not know.
  • Look at the pictures. Talk together about drawings and photographs and the difference between the two.
  • Can you see the page numbers?
  • Talk together about your favourite page.

Beyond Snail – Snaily – Snails

  • Together, count how many snails there are on page seven.
  • Have you seen some snails in your garden or on the street? Together talk about what they looked like.
  • Together using the book, find out where snails live and what they like to eat. Can you find out how snails move?
  • Can you see the pattern on the snail’s shell? Say the word ‘spiral’ together.
  • Using the pipe cleaner in your pack, can you make a spiral shape?
