Doctors

• Look at the book with your child.
• What can you find out about in this book?
• Say to your child that this is an information book. We use them to look up facts and things we may not know.
• Look at the pictures. Talk together about drawings and photographs and the difference between the two.
• Can you see the page numbers?
• Talk together about your favourite page.

Beyond Doctors

• Together, remember a visit to the doctors. Talk to each other about it.
• Look at the stethoscope in the pack – repeat the word stethoscope together.
• Have a go at listening to each other’s heartbeat using the stethoscope.
• What did you hear?
• Play doctors with your toys – can you listen to their heartbeat with the stethoscope?
• Sometimes doctors write out a prescription to give the sick person some medicine to get better. Can you draw how many tablets your teddy bear needs on the prescription?
