Diggers and Dumpers
- Look at the book with your child.
- What can you find out about in this book?
- Say to your child that this is an information book. We use them to look up facts and things we may not know.
- Look at the pictures. Talk together about drawings and photographs and the difference between the two.
- Talk together about your favourite page.
Beyond Diggers and Dumpers
- Together, count how many trucks there are on each page.
- Have you seen some diggers on the street? Together talk about what they looked like.
- Which lorry is your favourite?
- Together say some of the difficult words: excavator, bulldozer, loader, shovel, digger, concrete mixer, paver, roller. Can you find them in the book?
- Have a play using the truck in your pack, can you make the noise a truck makes?
